Summer Reading Programs

Help your kids keep the reading skills they achieved this year!

When children keep reading over the summer, they're less likely to lose the educational gains made this school year. Lucky for Sacajawea students, there are many community partners who want to make summer reading exciting and fun!

1 - Fort Vancouver Regional Library - Track your reading through their Beanstack app: https://fvrl.beanstack.com/reader365 or complete the library's paper form. Students will get a free book just for signing up and if they meet their goal, they can register to win prizes!

2 - Barnes and Noble - Students who read just 8 books and record them on this sheet: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wKamFYfOHY0vkB24-hf6cSYdDTUu_cJU/view?usp=sharing can choose a free book from a selection available at the Vancouver Barnes and Noble!

3 - Seize the Bagel offers students a free bagel and cream cheese for reading 10 books. Fill out this form and bring it to one of their stores: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1t7JXC5e1S5hyJAlT5tUzG3rhPdilZO9f/view

4 - Pizza Hut's online summer reading program lets students earn a free personal pan pizza. Sign up here for Pizza Hut's Book It! program: https://www.bookitprogram.com/programs/camp-book-it

5 - Menchie's Frozen Yogurt has bookmarks that record student reading. Record the reading of just 10 books and your student can turn in the bookmark for a free 6 oz. frozen yogurt.

6 - The University of Washington wants to support your child's reading too! Sign up for their Real Dawgs Read program and earn some cool swag: UW baseball hats, UW beanie hats, or a UW string backpack... maybe even a Starbucks card!: https://www.washington.edu/realdawgsread/

7 - Seattle Seahawks - 12 Pages Summer Reading Program- From their site, "The Seahawks invite all Junior 12s to grab a book and join 12 Pages: our reading program that includes our Summer Reading Challenge, school visits, and more."
