Our 5th Graders have a lot of exciting events and activities throughout the year, none of which would be possible without our wonderful volunteers. There are many ways you can help at school and at home! Special Sales, Dilly Bar Sales at the Harvest Festival and Carnival, and the Inflatable Toy Sale and Snack Shack at the Carnival all provide funding for the Class T-Shirt, Yearbook, the Legacy Gift, and Last Day of School Celebration. Your Sacajawea PTA also contributes $1,500 to be used for the Last Day of School Celebration - the 5th Grade Farewell.
Each year, based on funds, 5th Grade Committee can research school needs to see if there is a gift the 5th Graders can present to the school. For example, for the 2015-2016 Legacy Gift each 5th Grader was able to choose one book from the Spring Buy-One-Get-One Free Scholastic Book Fair to donate to the Sacajawea Media Center. The 2017-2018 Legacy was a new Skyhawk costume for our Self Manager Assemblies. The Last Day of School Celebration is meant to be a special day for our 5th Graders and 5th Grade parent volunteers. The kids have a Field Day with fun activities. They enjoy a picnic lunch (i.e., pizza, boxed lunches) and time together to sign yearbooks. Most of the planning for this event starts in February/March.
